As Russia’s brutal attempt to eradicate the Ukrainian people enters its second year, I found myself listening again and again to Ukrainian folk melodies – traditional melodies which, if Russia is allowed to succeed, may be lost to time.

The quartet is for Concerts for Compassion in support of their work bringing the solace of music to refugees around the world. As the war in Ukraine drags on and more and more Ukrainian families seek safety and shelter elsewhere, the worldwide refugee crisis will only grow worse – and the need for beautiful people like Mariella, Jocelyn and the other members of Concerts for Compassion becomes all the necessary. Love and compassion must prevail.
