Program Notes

Whatever is going on in the outside world, I am usually able to turn that off and focus on writing music. That just wasn’t the case throughout January 2021, where the anxiety provoked by the out-going President’s crazed attempt to overturn his election loss kept me from writing, for the longest period in several years. With the weight of that anxiety lifted following the inauguration, I started this meditative piece – an attempt to return to normalcy. As suggested by the title, music to drift.
