Program Notes

This early string quartet was composed for my dear cousin Laura, the only person in my extended family who always shared my love of music. Her love of the viola inspired me to write this quartet so as to give the viola its prominent role. The last movement, however, was written under the influence of some of the more rhapsodic music of Schubert.
